Glastonbury, CT – May 2, 2011 – Stifel Marcin, a full-service advertising, marketing, design and branding agency, now based in Glastonbury, announced today its move to new offices at 2790 Main Street, Glastonbury, CT. This is the second move for the Company in six months. After airborne mold was discovered at their previous location in Portland, the Company quickly sought new space.
"This past winter was tough on everyone," said Christine Marcin, agency principal. "Our previous space had a flat roof which began to leak, and we did our best to deal with the situation. Unfortunately, when work began to patch the leaks, mold was discovered and air testing confirmed its presence. Given the health concerns regarding this serious issue, we felt it was in the best interest of our health, and the health of our staff and clients, to seek new space. We are excited about our new space on Main Street in Glastonbury, and look forward to many years there."
Stifel Marcin's previous move to an historic home at 329 Main Street in Portland happened in October 2010, after the Company reported significant business growth.
Their building's leaking roof and mold are examples of the many long-lasting effects this past winter's storms have caused.
"So many people had problems because of this past winter's snow," Marcin continued. "Obviously, the leaking roof at our office was a problem, but we didn't realize there were other serious issues that the leaks could lead to. I hope others consider the 'hidden' affects of any damage."
"Despite dealing with ongoing leaks at our Portland office it was tough to leave, because we had moved there so recently. But members of our team reported symptoms that we realized were due to mold, and we just couldn't take the risk that anyone's health would be affected. As well, there was additional down-time to our operations that the clean-up required," said Andrew Stifel, founder and principal.
"Our new offices have a great open layout - even an old vault room from when the building housed a bank. Additionally, there is a proactive property management company, which we hope will allow us to avoid any problems like this down the road," Stifel continued. "We're small, so we're nimble, though we never really expected to need to be this nimble. We are thankful to our great team for maintaining our highest levels of quality and service throughout these recent challenges, and we look forward to a bright - and clean - future in our new Glastonbury space."
